o Estuary- partially enclosed body of water formed where a river flows into an ocean
o Mixture of fresh water from rivers and salt water from oceans
o Tides from ocean bring in marine matter
o Large number of species, compared to coral reefs and rainforests
o ACT AS FILTER FOR RIVERS. All human runoff will find its way here- good indicator of pollution
